Guess the Logo

Logos are everywhere. I’m sure you can recognize the big ones like Nike, Coca-Cola and McDonald’s at a glance. But how well do you really know your marketing icons?

Well, here’s your chance to find out! Guess the Logo is an online quiz that consists of about 10 commonly known logos you probably see almost every day. It’s all in good fun, but it’s harder than it sounds.

Thank you to our friend Andrew who alerted us to this.

Spork in the Road

Everyone loves the design and utility of the Spork. The name is actually a portmanteau word combining the words spoon and fork, which you probably have guessed. But did you know that the spork has been mass produced since the late 1800s?

A U.S. patent was issued to Peter S. Gallucci in February 1874 and the Folgate Silver Plate Company of England was known to manufacture them sometime between 1875 and 1900.

Today, you can pick up the plastic variety at cafeterias across the country for free, but if you like conservation as much as design you can buy metal sporks that are probably not unlike those original 19th century models.

Another example that good design endures the test of time.
